I focus on supporting cancer patients with natural medicine. The “mainstream” approach to cancer treatment is severely lacking, and my goal is to help every one of my clients have a better and more effective cancer treatment experience.
Why are you contributing to Health Talks 365?
The sad truth is Naturopathic Medicine currently exists outside the mainstream of medicine. As a result, its thoughts and practices are not widely known or understood, its doctors not able to work everywhere. This is a mistake.
Naturopathic medicine should be considered an essential resource for everyone, one that increases quantity and quality of life for its patients. An unbiased pursuit of the evidence would bear out this viewpoint. Unfortunately, that’s not the world we live in right now, and people must pursue the naturopathic approach on their own.
So, long story short, I’m excited to contribute to Health Talks 365 because it’s an opportunity to get naturopathic knowledge into the hands and minds of the people who need it.
Dr. Robinson grew up around medicine. His dad was an emergency room physician who lived his job and imparted to his son a love of science, medicine, and critical thinking.
Todd furthered his critical thinking skills at the most contrarian college in America, St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD. SJC’s Great Books curriculum models critical thinking and meaningful dialogue while its students read, study, and discuss the great works of Western thought (here’s their current reading list).
After St. John’s, Todd worked for four years in neuroscience research at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville with his work contributing to important papers in the field of neurodegeneration (PMID: 16862116; PMID: 18723524).
Dr. Robinson then attended naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University. While there, he completed specialty rotations in ADD/ADHD, diabetes and cardiovascular wellness, and integrative cancer care. Todd also continued his research efforts exploring botanical medicine for cancer prevention (PMID: 28129008).
Dr. Robinson is licensed to practice naturopathic medicine in Washington state (License #NT60309924) and is a current Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology.
His private practice, formerly Wellness Working Group, now Natural Medicine Advisors, is located in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Florida is one of the more difficult, if not most difficult, U.S. jurisdictions in which naturopathic doctors work. Still, Dr. Robinson has navigated treacherous waters by being ethical, honest, and maintaining the highest of professional standards.
Todd served for five years as Secretary and then President of the Florida Naturopathic Physicians Association. His willingness to engage in this strenuous and time-consuming volunteer work stems from a deep and abiding desire to see naturopathic medicine and its ideas, principles, and practices “go mainstream.”
Dr. Todd gave me suggestions for a program of supplements and exercise to keep my osteopenia from turning into osteoporosis. I greatly appreciate his research-based recommendations, his wealth of knowledge, and his support and compassion. He is a good resource for people who want to augment traditional medical care with a naturopathic approach.
Dr. Robinson has been a lifesaver for me. Because of doctor appointment scheduling issues, I had months of delay before starting traditional medical treatment for prostate cancer. But during that time, I was able to start a program of supplements and foods that fight cancer, thanks to the expert guidance of Dr. Robinson. Everything he recommended was based on published studies that demonstrated its efficacy. Cancer is a scary prospect but having Dr. Robinson in my corner as my coach and advisor gave me great confidence that I would be successful in my healing journey. As I started 39 radiation treatments, Dr. Robinson’s recommendations shifted so that I switched away from some supplements and foods and started others that work better along with the radiation. Again, this was supported by scientific findings, which Dr. Robinson summarized and shared with me. His specific guidance on diet, exercise, and stress reduction was most helpful, and it was also evidence-based. Dr. Robinson’s advice allowed me to take a truly holistic approach to treating the cancer and improving my health and well-being. Dr. Robinson is knowledgeable, kind, patient, caring, and responsive. I have no doubt that your time spent with him is an investment in your health and healing which will pay you huge dividends. I recommend that you invest in yourself and pay him a visit!
Dr Todd is awesome. He is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain in detail (sometimes on a board with a diagram) exactly how your body, the supplements, plants, etc. actually work. He knows his stuff. I was diagnosed with brain cancer and I’m beating my odds already thanks in part to Todd and his help
